You can tell I'm getting older, accidentally posted the same blog twice a few days ago!!

Today is my birthday, and even though I don't usually pay much attention to it, I got so many messages, well wishes, and so much love that I just couldn't ignore it. Each year that goes by brings up thoughts of things I still want to do, techniques I haven't yet learned, and the fact that art is still my "other job" that I'm lucky enough to do after my day job ends. I never planned it this way, but I'm grateful every time I walk into my workshop and see the mess, the works in progress, the works lacking in progress, and the old chair that fits me perfectly. I'm grateful to have a family that supports me in what I do, and are proud of me. It's good to be me, and today really reminded me of that. Here's to another year of making art, and living each day like it really matters. I wish the same to all of you.

Just finished eight rings created from antique sterling silver spoons. What a great way to create a connection among the women in a family, each one given a ring made from an heirloom family spoon. I made four originally two years ago, and was honored to be asked to create eight more!

Tomorrow they get picked up, and they will be given to the family members at an event later this month. I've posted an image on the website...I wish I could manipulate the damn camera as well as I can manipulate silver, but you can't have everything, right?
