I Was Just Thinking.....

Almost the end...of the year

Well, as I write this we are 44 minutes away from the end of one year and the beginning of another. It's been a long year in a lot of ways, and yet seems like 2013 just started in so many others. I've had a lot of opportunities to create different types of pieces this year, and for that I am grateful. I've had fewer opportunities to teach, which is disappointing, but there's always hope for next year. This year has seen a lot of jewelry repair work, and a lot of "reworking" of old pieces which has been both a challenge and a blessing, as well as several custom pieces. Then there was the Skull challenge...more challenging than I thought it would be, but I think it was a success nonetheless.

I thank you all for joining me this year, both in looking in my studios and reading the blogs. I hope I can keep you coming back, make you smile, make you think, and always give you something new to look at.

I wish everyone a gentle transition from 2013 to 2014. May all you need come to you when you need it :)

Peace!

Merry Christmas...and a Copper Wolf pendant!

I hope this day finds all of you well, and doing whatever brings you joy. While I am not a huge Christmas person, I do enjoy other's enjoyment of the holiday, and spending time with my family, and I wish all the best to yours.

I finally got to post the photo of the Wolf pendant commissioned earlier this month...hard when you have to wait, just in case the person takes a look at your website! On the bright side, it was a huge success, and Miss C. has stated that "copper is her new favorite!" Yay! It's always daunting waiting for a person's reaction to a piece created specifically for them, and so rewarding when they love it.

Peace to all!Copper Shield Wolf Pendant

No December Art Challenge....

I am grateful it's Christmas Eve...that means the chaos is almost over!! I am also grateful I didn't decide to do a December Art Challenge, it would have been an EPIC fail!

The wolf pendant I made was finally gifted this weekend, and the recipient loved it. Says copper is now her favorite for jewelry. Now that she's seen it and is happy with it, I will post a picture, but not tonight. Tonight is about Christmas Eve at my son's, so that means finish work, get home, maybe, just maybe, squeeze in a half hour nap, get ready and go. Tomorrow it's Christmas Lunch at the in-laws, and Thursday would have been my sister's birthday. We lost her last year in October, so it's going to be a weird day in a lot of ways.

I wish you all a peaceful, joyous holiday season. May you be surrounded by whatever gives you happiness.

Peace!

It's officially December....

and what better way to mark it than with a posting of a Santa carving. While Halloween has always been my favorite time of year, the one thing I have always loved about Christmas is the many representations of Santa Clause in so many different forms. My favorites have always been the carvings, and while this little guy stands only a few inches tall, he holds a world of tradition on his slightly rounded shoulders. I don't love Christmas, but I do love Christmas carving!

Peace!Rolly Polly Santa
