Computer....still...slow

Okay. I am not even sure if this will work, but here goes. If my computer was a person, it would be William Shatner! Cannot...load....not.....responding....shoot...me....now!!! A while back I posted a warning to protect your computer, and almost two months later I am still having problems. At this point it will no longer recognize my camera, my phone, my passwords. I do not think I have ever been as angry as an inanimate object as I have sitting here trying to perform the most basic functions. Then I remind myself, it is not the fault of the computer, it is the fault of the hacker (I type hacker, but there are other words floating around my head).

This means another trip to the computer experts to try and figure out what is still going wrong, and means I cannot load any photos, check my e-mails, etc. I do not even know if this posting will post, but I am giving it a shot. Protect your silly computer, because, man oh man, once it is compromised it can be hell trying to have it restored!

Now I will retire to my peaceful workshop and try to forget about this for another day.

Peace

Process

A question asked over and over is "how did you do that?" Most of the time when I am making something, whether it be jewelry, a carving, a painting...whatever, I get wrapped up in what I am doing and forget about photos until later.

In going through some files on my computer, I realized that while working with the lost wax carving technique, I actually did take some process photos, and am starting to post them. The most recent is a photo of what would eventually become a "wild spirit" pendant, and the photo shows the individual pieces after many hours of removing from the cast, cutting apart the individual pieces, and then the dreaded clean up before soldering.

Next photo will be the assembled pendant, since I now have a snazzy new photo tent to go with my snazzy new camera. Yes, my honey took pity on me and purchased a great set up that includes a collapsible tent, fluorescent daylight bulbs, several different backdrops, and even a tripod! Now all I have to do is learn to use the camera, and see if I can assemble the photo tent...why is it that the simple things give me the most trouble???

Articulated Rings

I took a shot at fabricating an articulated ring last week. It is one of those things I have always loved the look of, and have never tried. When all was said and done, I created a really cool looking ring, but not a whole lot of articulation. Since that was definitely not the point, I have taken it apart, and am going to try again. Just goes to show, no matter how skilled you think you may be, there is always room to learn more. I was going to post a photo, but since it did not do what it was supposed to, I decided that would be cheating. Stay tuned...I intend to get it right, and when I do, I will be proud to post that photo.

Enjoy the sun!

Peace
