Being asked to fabricate a wedding band for a couple is a double-edged sword. On the one hand it is a huge honor to be asked, on the other, there is even more pressure than usual to make sure it is exactly what the person is hoping for.
Recently I've been tasked with making three wedding bands, one of which is a traditional style Russian wedding band with a twist...instead of 3 intertwined bands the couple wanted 6! Sizing with such a thing is extremely tricky, and so I created this "sample" ring. Each individual 2mm half-round band started out at size 8 3/4, and after being interconnected the finished ring is now a size 6 1/2. Working that out ahead of time was a huge help, so this one is in the gallery, and the ring for the couple is in the finishing stages on my workbench.
The groom-to-be is working out of town and has so far only seen photos of the progress...hopefully the finished ring lives up to his expectations!
